What is 3D TV?
The term 3D TV refers to a set of technologies, applied to the traditional TV set LCD type with LED or Plasma (PDP), watching movies, TV channels, videos and games with a visual effect of ” depth “effect that the human brain associated with the format (3D) with the ability of stereoscopic vision.
What technology do you use?
The technologies now allow the display of images in three dimensions on a flat TV based on the principle of stereoscopic vision (stereopsis). The distances between our eyes is approx. 6 or 7 cm, which displays the same object or landscape from two different angles (parallax), our brains instantly brings those two images and gives us the optical perception of “depth”. Existing technologies which use the principle of stereopsis are: the traditional anaglyph , the autoestereoscopia, polarization, “Shutter” (or active glasses). The new 3D TV technology rely on shutter (in Spanish “blind”).
How does a 3D TV?
A 3D TV in our eyes sends two frames of the same shot with the only difference in the angle of approach: a frame for the right eye and one for the left and so on alternately (at the time of shooting a 3D movie need two cameras for each approach or a camcorder 3D). Being the same power (eg a sunset, a landscape, an object) from different angles, the slight lateral displacement, or overlap of images is interpreted by our brain as a single representation, which gives us ” illusion “of 3D. In summary, the brain believes that the flat image has depth. Naturally the whole process is so fast that the human eye does not distinguish between the two images, unlike the “melt” into one. What good are your glasses? Do I need to buy 3D TV glasses? Yes, for movies, TV channels, video games or 3D glasses are necessary specific, known or active shutter glasses, also known as ” active shutter glasses “because synchronized with television eyes: when your 3D TV sends a frame (picture box) for the right eye, the lens recognizes the signal and blind the other eye, the left. The two frames are not the same shooting, recorded from two points of view, the TV sends high-speed, one for each eye, the brain melts and we get the visual impression of 3D. The shutter glasses come with the issuer (with IR or Bluetooth) connected to the TV (or incorporated) that is responsible for transmitting the TV signal. The glasses are available in different sizes, are an integrated rechargeable battery that ensures a good range of vision in 3D and cost 50 to 150 euros etre. Read the rest of this entry »
